Most people, including myself, would like to save money when cleaning clothes and the Haier 1cubic ft. portable washing machine is the perfect choice, especially if you reside in an apartment, RV, or a small house that does not have traditional laundry hook-ups.
I live on the second floor of an apartment complex that has one outdoor washing machine and dryer for tenant use. It is quite expensive to use the machines on a regular basis and is inconvenient, because it is necessary to walk outside in the elements in order to wash/dry clothes. In addition to the inconvenience, every tenant has to take turns, wait, and share the washing machine.
Needless to say, after seven years of sharing an outdoor washing machine with multiple people, I knew that I needed a change. I wanted to clean my clothes in my own apartment, without having to go outside in the rain and without having to wait hours for an opportunity to wash something. I needed a small, portable washing machine that would be reliable, sturdy, easy to use, and powerful enough to remove tough stains, yet still be quiet enough to not disturb my neighbors. I found all of this and more with the Haier 1 Cubic Ft. Portable Washer.
Since the first day of using the machine, I have been very pleased with its performance, ease of use, efficiency, portability, effectiveness, and cleaning ability. I use the Haier Portable Washer on a regular basis and now clean more loads of clothing and small blankets than I ever did previously.
Following the user manual made it easy to assemble the washer and my daughter helped me put the insolating plate on the bottom of the machine. I did have to go to the local hardware store to purchase an adapter for the hose, because the ones that came with the washer did not fit onto my kitchen sink spout properly. The adapter was inexpensive, about $5.00, fits perfectly and makes it possible for the hose to connect securely to my kitchen faucet. When the washing machine is on, there is only a small amount of water that leaks out from the faucet/spout area, but this can be fixed by tightening the adapter.
I have used all of the modes to wash clothes- quick cycle, normal, and heavy, but my favorite one is the quick cycle, because it takes less time to wash clothes in this mode and in my opinion, is just as effective as the normal cycle.
If my clothes are really dirty, I do use the normal cycle in order to have more than one rinse and I usually use cold water, unless it is necessary to use warm/hot water for deep or embedded stains. When water has filled up to its appropriate wash or rinse level, I turn the sink’s water off, because I found that the pressure from the water coming through the faucet and into the hose will cause water to seep out from the area where the hose and machine are joined. Through trial and error, I discovered that by tightening and securing the hose to the inlet area of the machine and placing a small wash cloth around that area helps keep it dry and eliminate any spillage.
I also like to wash my garments with a small amount of Zote Soap with baking soda, and pour a little bit of white vinegar into the washer during the rinse cycle. My clothes come out so clean, soft, and smelling fresh. I believe that vinegar can help keep the inside of the machine clean.
The Haier Portable Washer does a great job in cleaning dirty garments and effectively removes excess water from clothing during the spin cycle. After the machine has completed its cleaning cycle, I put the clothing on a drying rack, without ever needing to use a dryer. I have use the Haier Portable Washer to clean small sized blankets without any problem, but if I need to wash large or heavy blankets, I just take them to the Laundromat.
It is not a loud machine, even during the spin cycle, which makes it great for every day use, and it does not take up much space, because of its compact size.
I think that everyone that lives in an apartment, RV, or small home should own a Haier Portable Washer. It saves money, time, and energy. With this easy to use machine, I no longer have to wait my turn to wash clothes; neither do I have to carry heavy loads up and down the stairs to and from the apartment’s outdoor laundry facility.
The Haier Portable Washer is truly a wonderful machine, especially for apartment dwellers, and does a great job of cleaning loads of clothing on a daily basis. I am so happy and grateful that God has blessed me with this machine!
